Exposed Series  2015

The steel on which I paint on is usually connected to symbolism of strength, building and masculinity. But when I eroded it with vinegar and hydrogen peroxide, I broke down its barriers. I forced nature’s actions upon it, creating spots where the strength and its protective barriers become questionable by the sight of rust. By painting women’s portraits on this surface I am reflecting strength but also, strength within revealing. Each painting I interviewed the women presented about Exposure.
